To be saved you must turn away from sin, believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus, and receive Him as Lord and Savior of your life.

Here is the step-by-step process.

First, you must consider your life and then turn away from everything in it that is contrary to what God wants. This turning away from selfishness and toward God is called repentance.

Acts 3:19 – “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”

Second, you must acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross to forgive you of sin. You take Him as your Savior to cleanse you from sin
– as the substitute who paid the price due for your sin.

Romans 5:9-10 – Much more than having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Third, you must ask Him to be Lord of your life, acknowledging openly and verbally that Jesus is not only your Savior but your Lord.

Romans 10:9 - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

The Bible says in
John 1:12 - As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believe in His name.

So when you open your heart and receive Him, He comes into your heart – your inner person – through His Holy Spirit, and begins to live His life in you. From that point on, it is your privilege and calling to confess what God has done.

Have you ever wondered how to accept Christ into your life?

I am starting this blog with step-by-step instructions on how to accept Christ as your Savior.  If you have accepted Christ and would like to share a testimony, please do so.

I accepted Christ into my life when I was 17 years old.  I was in a low place in my life and needed more of God in my life.  I knelt down next to my twin bed in my bedroom and prayed to God to forgive me of my sins and come into my life.  That was just the beginning of my walk with Christ.

Sometimes the relationship has been very strong and sometimes it has been almost non-existent.

I have worked in corporate America.
I have volunteered at my kid's schools.
I have started and continue to do a quilt ministry at my church.
I have suffered and still suffer from depression.

I am a normal person with normal problems:
What am I going to cook for supper?
How will we pay for this appliance repair?
Why do my kids know so much, and I know so little?
How will I ever get everything on my list finished?

A young friend recently professed the desire to accept Christ.  It made me realize that maybe there are people who need to know how to make that committment.  This is my attempt to provide some step-by-step instructions on accepting Christ into your life.
God bless you.

  2. Thanks for joining my blogs! I am a stay at home mom who spends a lot of time quilting. I quit a corporate job 10 years ago to quilt. God then took my quilting and turned it into an amazing ministry. I make quilts for the kids at church who are baptised and confirmed. I make quilts for the hospital for families who lose a child. I also make memory quilts for families that have lost a loved one. God is so great!!!
