To be saved you must turn away from sin, believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus, and receive Him as Lord and Savior of your life.

Here is the step-by-step process.

First, you must consider your life and then turn away from everything in it that is contrary to what God wants. This turning away from selfishness and toward God is called repentance.

Acts 3:19 – “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”

Second, you must acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross to forgive you of sin. You take Him as your Savior to cleanse you from sin
– as the substitute who paid the price due for your sin.

Romans 5:9-10 – Much more than having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Third, you must ask Him to be Lord of your life, acknowledging openly and verbally that Jesus is not only your Savior but your Lord.

Romans 10:9 - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

The Bible says in
John 1:12 - As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God, to those who believe in His name.

So when you open your heart and receive Him, He comes into your heart – your inner person – through His Holy Spirit, and begins to live His life in you. From that point on, it is your privilege and calling to confess what God has done.

Life would be Different

My life would be so different if I had not accepted Christ all those years ago. Every day, I see the evidence of God in my life. Here are some examples:
1. After 8 months of looking for a job, I got a job after talking informally for ten minutes, yes ten minutes, with a local company. This is huge since we live in a small town and there are not a lot of jobs, especially ones that pay decent.
2. The sun rises and sets everyday. It reminds that me that someone bigger than me is in charge.
3. Kind people who call to check on me are a gift from God.
4. Unhappy or sick people I encounter remind me that my life really is good.
5. A kitty who snuggles up to sit with me.
6. A talk with God at night as I get ready for bed. I can unload all my stuff on Him and He just takes it.
7. A sense of well-being no matter what challenges I face everyday. I know that God is there as my back-up. He can manage all of the things that are hard for me.
Thank you God.
